Pickleball is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. This fun sport combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, and is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.

Recreation Play

Brookline Recreation offers multiple options for Pickleball play throughout the year. Structured offerings through Brookline Recreation include all equipment needed to play. Please note that you must be pre-registered for each session and we do NOT accept walk-ins.

Cancelation Policy

Refunds can only be provided in cases of illness/injury, so long as an official doctor's note is provided. 

Cancelations 5+ days in advance of activity will be provided with a credit on their Brookline Recreation account to be used for future activities.

Credits on cancelations less than 5 days in advance will be at the discretion of the activity coordinator.

No-shows will not receive a refund or credit on their account.

Weather Policy

In cases of cancelation of an activity due to inclement weather, activity coordinators will do their best to alert you at least 2 hours in advance of the activity start time. Cancelation alerts will also be posted online at www.brooklinerec.com.

If an activity is canceled due to inclement weather and does not have a make-up/rain date scheduled, a credit will be applied to your account to be used for future Brookline Recreation activities.

Court Rentals

Limited court rentals are available at the Waldstein Tennis Center (Dean Road). Pre-registration is required - please visit the Waldsten Pickleball Reservation page for rules and current offerings. Please note that equipment is NOT provided for court rentals.

Open Play

Pickleball lines have been painted within the Tennis courts at Baker School, Coolidge Park, Florida Ruffin Ridley School, Longwood Playground, Waldstein Tennis Center, and Warren Park. Residents may play on the courts when they are not used by Brookline Public Schools or other permitted groups. Please note that equipment is NOT provided for open play.

Lessons

Brookline Recreation offers Pickleball clinics throughout the year but does not offer private lessons. Local Pickleball Ambassador Craig Corcoran does offer lessons - please visit https://craig54corcoran.wixsite.com/pickleball for more information.

Scheduling Websites

Brookline Recreation does NOT have an affiliation with any third-party court scheduling websites. Scheduling court time through any unaffiliated website doe NOT guarantee court usage or admission to any Brookline Recreation session.
