After School Program

The Brookline Recreation After School Program (ASP) is an EEC licensed program for children enrolled in the Public Schools of Brookline. This program offers a safe, supportive alternative between school and home for children. Activities include outdoor play, seasonal activities such as ice skating, open gym activities, cooking, arts and crafts, homework, community service, and field trips.

Our program offers the opportunity for children in grades K - 4 to learn and grow in a structured environment but at their own pace. Taught by EEC certified teachers, children will be guided through enriching and educational programming to expand on their social, emotional, and intellectual well being.

Enrollment and Tuition

The After School Program takes up to 30 children per day of the week. Registration is done by day. You may register for one day a week or for five, whichever your need is. After 30 children are reached per day, a wait list will be held for registrations at no cost.

The cost for our program is $100 per day, per month. Example: If you register for Mondays, your tuition would be $100 a month. If you register for Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays; your tuition would be $300. 5 Days a week will cost $500.

Transportation

The Brookline Recreation Department works closely with the town transportation department in providing bus service from the public schools to the Eliot Recreation Center. Children will be boarded at their school by a teacher or staff member and met out front of the Eliot Center by one of our teachers.

Programming and School Schedule

The Brookline Recreation After School program follows the Public Schools of Brookline school calendar. If there is no school, the program will be closed. If schools have a half day, children will come to us early and have an extended day with us.

The After School Program is closed during school vacation weeks, however the Recreation Department will offer additional programming as an alternative for a separate cost and separate registration.

A separate calendar will be sent out to all parents and guardians listing our events for each day of the month. This will provide notice for field trips, special events, and any special notes that require advanced attention.
